What should you take with you?

This section is for discussion about what you should take with you on your travels, and just as importantly, what you should leave behind. It's far too easy to clutter yourself with too much stuff you don't need (I was very much guilty of this).

So let's get down to it, what are the essentials?

Making sure you get the right backpack is essential if you ask me, and certainly something you shouldn't scrimp on. Don't get a huge one though, because you'll only fill it up.

Toilet paper!

Trust me, when you go to India, you'll be glad you've got some! Oh also, for India make sure you have Rizlas, they're not easy to come by in my experience. Assuming you're that way inclined of course. :)

A good pair of boots/shoes, toiletries and first aid kit.

I took a multitool with me, and found it really useful.
